Automation and Rules
Let the system do the repetitive work, and define once the conditions the rest of the system reuses. The first group covers what runs by itself — a screen reacting to a field change, jobs on a schedule, documents that repeat. The second covers the reusable building blocks: saved criteria, criteria written as text, named lists of screens, and the SQL-based virtual entities behind reports and dashboards.
Work That Runs by Itself
GUI Post ActionsMake the screen react the moment a field changes — fill, recalculate or clear other fields before the record is saved.Scheduled TasksRun jobs automatically on a schedule — the task scheduler.Recurring DocumentsReproduce a template document on a cadence — automatically on a schedule or in an on-demand batch.
Reusable Building Blocks
Criteria DefinitionsThe saved, named filter that approvals, notifications, flows, required fields and lookups all point at — how to build one, how to test it, and where it is used.Text Criteria ParserWrite criteria as plain text and have the parser turn them into filters.Entity Type ListsOne named list of screens, so a single setting can apply to a whole family of them — and the Add From Group shortcut that builds it from a menu.Virtual EntitiesReusable SQL building blocks that power reports and dashboards.
